What kind of job can you get with a Supply Chain Management (logistics)?

I am a supervisor wih UPS and am looking to go full time. I am thinking about getting a Supply Chain Management degree as I believe it will help me with my current job.

However if my current job doesn’t work out what other types of jobs are available with a Supply Chain Management degree?

The answers:

A degree in SCM is limiting to some bcz of the title. A better bet:

Stay with UPS as long as you can tolerate it (I lasted two years)
Take any eduction they offer you – any promotions, etc
Get your degree in business – maybe with a SCM minor. The business degree will open many doors for you especially in management areas.

Good Luck!

Robert asks…

How hard would it be to find a job after college, majoring in Supply Chain Management?

I want to major in Supply Chain Managment at either Michigan State, Penn State or Arizona State. They’re all top 5 schools for the degree, but I was wondering if its hard to find a job in that area after college.

The answers:

Actually not to bad with this degree. All that stuff that appears in stores does not get there by magic. Same for all the parts that go into manufactured products. Especially as manufacturing is returning from China while the parts will continue to come from all over the world. People with SCM degrees make the world work.

You will be 10+ times as employable as an English or History major.

And the school you go to, between those does not matter. All good.
